My academic and training background is interdisciplinary, comprising a foundation in the physical and social sciences complemented by practical experience in natural resource management, agriculture, forestry, archaeology, geology, and environmental education.  My teaching philosophy emphasizes diversity, global engagement, and scientific methodology.  I am committed to providing a comprehensive and distinctive education to my students to enable them to become objective informed researchers and conscientious engaged citizens.
